Michelle joined Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball, Chartered (ABBB) in 2008, soon after earning her Master of Accounting from Kansas State University. She currently serves as a Partner in ABBB’s Colby office. Michelle specializes in providing tax, accounting, and consulting work for a number of small businesses in a variety of industries – many that are family owned and operated. She assists in managing the financial aspects of their business through budgeting, cash flow analysis, break even analysis, and other management functions.
Outside of her client responsibilities, she has managed the Colby office operations since 2013. In addition, she serves on the firm’s Marketing Advisory Board and as a LEAD Academy Advisor, having graduated from the program herself in 2013. Michelle has also been instrumental in creating annual Young Professional area networking events that have been hosted at the Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball Colby office.
Committed to helping others through her work, Michelle is described by her peers and co-workers as a great leader who is always willing to help. She was inspired to go into accounting because it gave her the ability to work with many different industries and in varying capacities. Michelle attributes her success to a strong work ethic and a drive to always be moving forward.
Michelle grew up in Linn, Kansas, and currently resides in Colby with her husband, Josh, and their daughter, Leah. She enjoys living in northwest Kansas as there are many progressive communities that still have a “small town feel.” Many might not know that from ages 10 to 20, Michelle played fast-pitch softball, both pitching and playing first base. She still enjoys playing co-ed slo-pitch, as well as spending time with her family, reading, and being outdoors.
